Back from Edinburgh

Well, I did my second gig in Edinburgh last night. I travelled through with my girlfriend Hollie, my esteemed colleague Stuart Gordon and of course my faithful best mate and writing partner Dave… So if last night bombed I was taking him down with me! But contrary to my nerves and near shitting myself I did ok! I enjoyed it actually!

I took a risk early on by trying to start some banter with the audience and thank fuck it paid off ! It was quite busy audience-wise and they were definitely up for a laugh which helped. I was initially supposed to be first on the bill but one of the other comedians asked to swap slots with me because he had to go away early. So by the time I got onto stage the crowd had been well warmed up. There was only one joke that didn’t really get quite the laugh I’d hoped for and that was me suggesting to look at John Major you’d be forgiven for thinking he looked like he’d throw like a girl. But in all fairness I cracked that joke after spending a few minutes talking about how the oppression of women is wrong, which it is! …So maybe the audience were just confused?!!

But overall I got some good laughs in the right places and most importantly didn’t die on my arse. There was another comedian on the bill. I remember his first name was Tommy but can’t for the life of me remember what his surname was, but he was hilarious! When I find out his name I will seek him out online and hopefully be able to put up some links to his stuff.
